Our Story

Minnesota Green Guides was born from firsthand experience navigating the complexities of Minnesota's emerging cannabis industry. We didn't start as consultants—we started as entrepreneurs who saw the opportunity in Minnesota's cannabis legalization and jumped in with both feet.

When Minnesota legalized adult-use cannabis, we recognized this wasn't just a business opportunity—it was a once-in-a-generation chance to be part of building a new industry from the ground up. Like many aspiring cannabis entrepreneurs, we started with enthusiasm, determination, and countless questions. What we quickly discovered was that Minnesota's cannabis regulations are complex, the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) requirements are extensive, and there's a massive gap between theoretical knowledge and practical, operational expertise.

Rather than rely on out-of-state consultants unfamiliar with Minnesota's unique regulatory landscape and climate challenges, we dove deep into the regulations ourselves. We studied Minnesota Statute 342 and Minnesota Rules 9810. We connected with other operators, regulators, and industry stakeholders. Most importantly, we built actual cannabis facilities—navigating local municipal approvals, designing compliant cultivation spaces, implementing security and tracking systems, and ultimately launching operations that passed OCM inspections and achieved full compliance.

Through this journey, we learned valuable lessons about what the OCM really looks for in applications, how to design cultivation facilities that work in Minnesota's climate, where hidden costs emerge, which vendors deliver on promises, and how to navigate the thousands of regulatory requirements without getting overwhelmed. We continuously refined and optimized our approach, ultimately succeeding in building profitable, compliant cannabis operations in Minnesota.
